A great night at The Tap Room, Twice Brewed:

With Storm Jorge battering us as we drove the Military Road, the signs were not auspicious. However on arrival at the Tap Room, it became obvious that all bad karma was left outside the door.

It was our first time at the venue and what a fantastic place it is - intimate yet surprisingly roomy and with fantastic acoustics. Ian K Brown, with his superb guitar playing, was not only mine host but also performed a great support set of both originals and covers.

We also had the amazing Sam Shields play the warm up spot. Firstly the overall sound he created was wonderful. There was a rarely heard cohesion between the tone of his Martin and his voice, which was enhanced by Dave, the tremendous in-house soundman. His own songs were excellent and they were mixed with several rarely heard covers – played in his own manner. He is definitely one to watch out for.

We loved the audience who took up the challenge of imitating the choir we used on the Links album with gusto and carried it off with spectacular success. They even seemed mildly amused by Colin’s ramblings between songs. All in all we had a great time and can’t wait to come back.
